Asia Art Archive (AAA), in collaboration with the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and Vernacular Insititue, stages The Editorial at Taipei Biennial 2016. A critical editorial platform, the programme takes place at the museum 10–11 Dec 2016.

The two-day programme includes a range of events from public lectures and debates, publication launches, performances, readings, to a display within an Asian street market-inspired installation, alongside internal workshops by and for international art publishing practitioners. Through this curated series of public events, exhibitions, and discussions, The Editorial looks into the expanding role and network of independent contemporary art publishers in Asia and their international impact. It also considers different perspectives on independent publishing, generating research through artistic and critical means while placing the distinct cultural backgrounds of different regions of Asia in a broader context. The programme also endeavours to build a peer network of emerging to established independent artist-led publishers in Asia.

A series of collateral events will also take place in art bookshops and cultural venues across Taipei, and through a subsequent 'Free Parking' exhibition at Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong.
