Photologue | Seoul, Jul 2008

On 17 July at 6pm, two exhibitions opened, one at Insa Art Space and the other at Arko Art Center, both run by Arts Council Korea.

'Dongducheon: A Walk to Remember, A Walk to Envision', Insa Art Center, 16 July – 24 August, 2008.
'KO Woo Young Comics: Never Ending Story', Arko Art Center, Seoul, 16 July – 12 September, 2008.

Insa Art Space (IAS), championing young artists and seeking a channel for international communication, presented ‘Dongducheon’, a two-year (2007–08) project initiated by Museum as HUB as an inter-institutional network & partnership program by New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York. Composed of exhibitions, workshops, symposiums, lectures, talks & discussions, an archive and film screening, the project presented twelve new works by four invited Korean artists; KOH Seung Wook, Sangdon KIM, ROH Jae Oon, and siren eun young jung. On the other hand, Arko Art Center commemorated one of the most beloved Korean cartoonists, the late KO Woo Young (1938–2005) along with works by eight young artists.
