Co-presented by Asia Art Archive and mMK, the roundtable entitled 'HistoriCITY - Art Historical Writing in and on Hong Kong' was held on 29 September 2007 at the Lecture Hall of Hong Kong Museum of Art. The roundtable was divided into two sessions with two different panels of guests. The present article is a documentation of the the first session and includes an edited combination of speakers' synopses, transcriptions of their actual speeches, materials from earlier reading groups, and selected responses from the speakers and audience. The speakers in this session include Christina Chu, Chang Tsong-zung, Lu Peng, Wan Qingli, Wen Yau, Koon Yeewan, Pamela Kember and Frank Vigneron.
