Self-published zine by Hong Kong artist Wilson Shieh. Responding to George Orwell's classic 1984, Shieh, who was born in 1970 and reached his adolescence in 1984, recalls the political energy of this particular year, in which the Sino-British Joint Declaration was signed. At the same time, the 1980s was a golden era for the local entertainment industry. In this book, Shieh combines his personal memory of the period during which he grew up, with his drawings of historical events, pop stars, TV dramas and other images that help the artist himself reconstruct how he grew.
Includes a preface and a postscript by the artist.
