This book is a translated version of the original Japanese edition BIJUTSUKAN NO KANOSEI, written by Seishi Namiki and Osamu Nakagawa and published by Gakugei Shuppan-sha in 2006. The present Chinese edition is translated by Tsai Shih-jung. Discussing about the system, collection, architecture, art form, and community engagement, the authors investigate into the role and positioning of the museum by citing examples from both Japan and other countries.
