Autobiography by Baby Kamble written originally in Marathi. The present text is translated by Maya Pandit. Like most Dalit autobiographies, The Prisons We Broke is an expression of protest against the inhuman conditions of existence to which the Hindu caste system has subjected the Dalits for thousands of years.
