John Young is a contemporary Hong Kong artist who was educated in Sydney, Australia. Young began his artistic activities via theoretical work and wrote some of the earliest writings on postmodernism in the context of art in Australia. The nineties lead Young to re-assess his concerns with the Asian diaspora, particularly in relationship to Western late Modernism and Postmodernism. This catalogue was published in conjunction with his solo exhibition at Anna Schwartz Gallery, Melbourne in 2001. Artist’s biography is included.
