We are seeking a full-time Assistant Librarian to support the Library department of AAA. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic organisation at the centre of the regional contemporary art scene.

Responsibilities

  • Cataloguing and maintaining materials in the AAA Library
  • Performing day-to-day operations and user support in the AAA Library
  • Handling in-person and online inquiries from users
  • Contributing to the development of archiving and library processes, including inventory, catalogue, and storage
  • Moving and handling physical archives and library material
  • Providing clerical and administrative support for daily library operations
  • Managing statistics relating to the use of the Library and Collections
  • Ensuring the physical and environmental protection of all collections housed at AAA
  • Assisting with occasional outdoor assignments, e.g., acquisitions assessment for books
  • Conducting digitisation as assigned by the Senior Librarian alongside AAA Researchers
  • Taking on other duties as assigned by the Senior Librarian

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Bachelor Degree or relevant qualifications in Library Science
  • At least two years of work experience in a library environment
  • Fluency in English and Chinese (both spoken and written)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and integrated library management systems
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with a positive and courteous manner
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • An interest in contemporary art
  • The ability to work required shifts on Saturdays, 10am-6pm
