We are seeking a full-time Assistant Librarian to support the Library department of AAA. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic organisation at the centre of the regional contemporary art scene.
Responsibilities
- Cataloguing and maintaining materials in the AAA Library
- Performing day-to-day operations and user support in the AAA Library
- Handling in-person and online inquiries from users
- Contributing to the development of archiving and library processes, including inventory, catalogue, and storage
- Moving and handling physical archives and library material
- Providing clerical and administrative support for daily library operations
- Managing statistics relating to the use of the Library and Collections
- Ensuring the physical and environmental protection of all collections housed at AAA
- Assisting with occasional outdoor assignments, e.g., acquisitions assessment for books
- Conducting digitisation as assigned by the Senior Librarian alongside AAA Researchers
- Taking on other duties as assigned by the Senior Librarian
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor Degree or relevant qualifications in Library Science
- At least two years of work experience in a library environment
- Fluency in English and Chinese (both spoken and written)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and integrated library management systems
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with a positive and courteous manner
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An interest in contemporary art
- The ability to work required shifts on Saturdays, 10am-6pm
