'Elective Affinities, Constitutive Differences: Contemporary Art in Asia' was an international conference organised by the School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawaharial Nehru University, and The Biennale Society, Delhi. The conference was held from 9 to 11 March 2008 at the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, New Delhi. The conference organiser was Vivan Sundaram with Majari Sihare as coordinator. 

The conference was sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC), The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Max Mueller Bhavan, Japan Foundaion, Sanskriti Foundation, and the Rajiv Gandhi Founcation

The conference committee included Parul Dave Mukherjee, Kavita Singh, Naman P. Ahuja from the School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, and Geeta Kapur, Sheba Chhachhi, Pooja Sood, and K.T. Ravindra from the Biennale Society, Delhi.

The Biennale Society, Delhi, comprised of Jyotindra Jain as President, Vivan Sundaram as Secretary, Pooja Sood as Treasurer, and members K.T. Ravindran, Geeta Kapur, Gayatri Sinha, Sheba Chhachhi, Ranbir Kaleka, and Roobina Karode.
