This archive consists of documents related to the Oil Street artist village that existed from around 1998–2000 in the former Government Supplies Department complex in North Point, Hong Kong.

In 2006, an artist practicing in Hong Kong left the city in haste and dropped a box of materials at Asia Art Archive before her departure. In 2012, Asia Art Archive took this box of materials as a point of departure for a small-scale research project on the Oil Street artist village. This special collection of material consists of documents from the box originally left at AAA, as well as materials generously shared by practitioners that AAA researchers approached in 2012.
