This publication for the 2008 Biennale of Sydney is a meditation in drawings and texts on its theme "Revolutions - Forms That Turn". Black-and-white artists drawings and notations ranging from diary entries to song lyrics replace images of work or installation views, creating a hardcover book that exists as an art object rather than a formal document of the exhibition. 200 sketches by over 100 artists are paired with theoretical texts by prominent art historians and curators from around the world.
Original essays have been written by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, Jonathan Crary, Iwona Blazwick and Charles Harrison. With short texts by ten curatorial 'comrades' including Hans Ulrich Obrist, Massimiliano Gioni, Russell Storer and Iara Boubnova. Exhibited works listed at the back of the catalogue.
