This catalogue is published to accompany the exhibition 'Contemporary Paintings of Malaysia' organised by the National Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur. The director of Pacific Asia Museum, David Kamansky says that it was a good opportunity to present the contemporary art movement in Malaysia which has begun for about 35 years and explored a wide range of styles and techniques in painting.
