この記録集は、アート／テクノロジー／身体を共通のプラットフォームに活動を続けるYCAMの、開館から5年間の記録と、参加アーティストへのインタビューや、エッセー、様々な活動のドキュメント等で構成されています。 メディアアートの創造性を見出し、世界に発信し続ける複合文化施設、YCAM。 オリジナルプロダクション33点を収録し、その活動を紹介する記録集。 2003年11月の開館以来、メディアテクノロジーと身体をめぐる新しい芸術表現を追求する山口情報芸術センター［YCAM］。アーティストの構想とその実現を担う専門性をもち、それらを地方から発信する視点と、地域の文化に対する眼差しとともに生み出された作品の数々は、世界各地で巡回を続けています。本書では、開館から5年間にわたって制作・発信したオリジナル作品を中心に、その活動の全貌を紹介します。アートの現在が、新たなメディアを創出する技術とどのように関わるのか、テクノロジーと社会との関係に、どうやって批評的に対峙するのか―。本書を通じ、次代に続く、創造の「環境／創発／公共性」のあり方を問いかけます。
