This CD-ROM contains 19 images of Alvin Villaruel's solo exhibition, 'Figues', which was held in the 1/OF Gallery, from 8 to 18 August, 2007.

'This series of works branches out of my usual abstract pieces and is intended to expand my visual experience through immersion in many different works of photography. The treatment of my favored medium – oil – remains the same, even way back from my portraiture days. The evolution of my works and of myself as a painter is constant.  Whether abstract or figurative, my passion for images and photographic effects rendered in oil remains the same. For this show I have gathered a few images that had a personal, even emotional, appeal to me, so that rendering them on canvas would be a pleasure. For me it is also reminiscent of my former job as an oil portraitist. Nevertheless my passion for painting and photography is as strong as ever.' - Alvin Villaruel
