The exhibition 'Gong Zhen - Sport in Art', organised by Adidas and supported by the Opera Gallery, opened in Shanghai and travelled to Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shenyang and Chengdu, eventually arriving in Beijing in time for the 2008 Olympic Games. It featured works by 70 artists from around the world, including paintings, sculptures, photography, video art, interactive art, installations, and live performances. Most of the pieces were exclusively commissioned for the exhibition and many were shown for the first time.
