A monograph of Chinese artist Hu Jieming published in conjunction with his solo exhibition entitled 'One Hundred Years in One Minute' held from October to November 2010 at ShanghART Gallery, Shanghai, China. The exhibition shows his video and sound installation under the same title which consists of 1,440 storage bags, arranged in the form of a matrix screen. Ten projectors are used to project 1,100 videos onto the bottoms of these storage bags. The video images are excerpted from a wide range of the archive of international modern and contemporary art in the past century. 31 different sound sources are used to produce audio effect, including recorded human sounds, produced sounds, natural sounds, and sounds collected on-site. Artist biography, list of past work with images are included in this monograph.
Please note that the major content of the book is in English and simplied Chinese, while the articles by Richard Castelli and Caroline Nicod are published in all three languages: English, simplified Chinese and French.
