In the essay, ‘Life Form in the Universe,’ Yoichiro Kawaguchi discusses about the works that sprang from the computer graphic technology of ‘the Growth Model,’ with which he began to work since the mid 1970s. Kawaguchi explains about the technology in detail with chats and figures in his essay, ‘The Growth Model.’ The first interactive CG work that was presented in the year 2000 was entitled ‘Gemotion,’ bringing together three words, ‘growth,’ ‘gene,’ and ‘emotion.’ Kawaguchi gradually became interested in bringing his ‘Gemotion’ and traditional art forms, such as traditional Japanese dancing and Japanese tea ceremony. ‘Gemotion’ created unique spaces in response to the body movement of the dancers and subtle wiggling of tea making hand. Kawaguchi moved on to utilize people’s mobile phones as interface. Chronology and the artist's publications are listed at the end. There is a floor plan drawing for this exhibition by the artist near to the end of this material.
