In 2010, Liu Xiaodong travelled back to his birthplace—Jincheng, a northern industrial town he has left for thirty years, to capture its landscape and people in paintings, prints and ceramics. The artworks are presented at 'LIU Xiaodong. Hometown Boy' organised by Eslite Gallery, running from December 2011 to January 2012. The accompanying catalogue includes an essay by Yang Zhao and full-colour artwork plates of about 70 works. With artist biography.
