This publication features a series of art programs organized by KHOJ in 2004 and 2005, including KHOJ International Artists' Workhop, International Residency Program, Studio Exhibition Program and Community Art Program. Pooja Sood, Director of KHOJ wrote, 'As an "alternative" or "independent" art space in India, KHOJ is in both, a luxurious and difficult position within the Indian art scene. Luxurious because it is able to provide a space where experimentation and risk are still possible, debate and critical inquiry are embraced, communty is essential, resources and experience are democratized and today's issues are thrashed about in the heat and immediacy of "art as it is experienced". Difficult because its very existence is threatened by the lack of financial and infrastructural support leaving it fragile and often vulnerable.'
