This catalogue documents a large-scale land art project and performance work by Lin Chuan-chu that addresses the intimate connection between people and the land. The artist planted a rice paddy field in the Dazhi area of Taipei, on a one-acre site once filled with waste, and engaged members of the community to participate in cultivating and harvesting its crops. It was the third performance/exhibition project sponsored by the JUT Foundation for Arts and Architecture and was completed before the end of 2007. Through its 'Museum of Tomorrow' activities and projects, urban space becomes a platform for artistic expression and discussion of concerns for society, humanity and the environment, by utilizing a "museum" concept that is free, organic and mobile.
With artist statement, biography and appendix illustrating various stages of the project and the related activities.
Note: An accompanying documentary DVD with location code CD.001194 is available.
