This catalogue was published in conjunction with Inhwan Oh's conceptual exhibition, My Beautiful Laundromat Sarubia that ran from June 12 to July 12, 2002. Inhwan Oh transformed Project Space SARUBIA into a laundromat that provided free laundry service for men. Meeting with the artist one-on-one, participants began by agreeing to have washed, an article of clothing they were currently wearing. The clothes were then immediately "washed-ironed-folded-photographed" and returned to the participant. A large light box reading "My Beautiful Laundromat SARUBIA" accompanied the private laundry room built in the exhibition space. An everyday (public) space as well as a closed (private space), the laundromat became the site of desire and conflict, states affected by gender, sexuality, power and culture.
