This is the catalogue of Nalini Malani's exhibition at Sakshi Gallery in 2006. Nancy Adajania wrote in her essay, 'To experience Nalini Malani's recent suite of paintings, Living in Alicetime, is to follow the White Rabbit down the hole in the ground, and to find oneself displaced from normality: in a space where time can be compressed or drawn out, size can be altered without warning; where objects defy the gravity of description, and purpose is divorced from appearance. The mysterious forces that drive these distortions are as often political as they are psychological, for Malani has long been an astute recorder of the inscriptions that history makes upon the self, especially the female self.' Artist biography is provided in the catalogue.
