Although art works are seldom collected by national or local museums in Mainland China due to historical reasons, Long Museum is on which collect a variety of ancient art works, paintings during the Republic of China, "Red Classics" after 1949 and also modern and contemporary art works after 1979. This book arrange the museum's collection in chronological order, displaying plates of nearly 300 art works produced by Chinese modern and contemporary artists. The mediums used in the works covers painting, sketch, print and sculpture.
