Despite years of activity in the art scene, Palestinian women artists have remained 'in the shadows'. This book hopes to serve as a pioneering visual resource that presents the works of 42 Palestinian women artists from across several generations. Each artist has been given a four-page spread with a short biography provided in Arabic, English and Spanish. The accompanying essays attempt to illuminate the elements that comprise the scope of Palestinian women's art, pointing to its theoretical applications and also analysing works by some of the artists mentioned.
