"Pinaree Sanpitak was born in 1961 in Bangkok. She studied art and communication in Japan (Ibaraki, Tokyo) and the United States (Kansas City) before returning to Bangkok, where she became a major artist, with a highly personal way of treating a universal theme. She uses archetypal but simple forms (from bowls and basins to temples) to portray women's daily lives, from the 'almost ecstatic smile of the Caesarean" to the bond between mother and child, from the 'delight of slipping on a dress, to the pleasure of smoothing it over one's hips." - Abstract.
