This is a photographic and written documentation of Cai Guoqiang’s Project for Extraterrestrials No.9 – Fetus Movement II which was launched in Kassel, Germany in 1992, during the International Art Exhibition. As stated by the artist, ‘the purpose of the project is to unify the fetus movements of the earth and human spirit, and to feel origin of the fetus movement of the universe itself, and all existence within it.’ Also included in this publication are biographical information of the artist, and essays written by art critic, writer and directors of art organisations who have worked with Cai Guoqiang on his projects.
