As part of YMCArts in Education Project, this commemorative volume documents a program held at Mashipo, a rural village in Hong Kong threatened by recent land demolition actions. Led by Sandy Chan, YMCArts in Education project curator, and ceramic artist Rebeka Tam, each of the twelve youth participants pairs up with a villager of Mashipo. After visiting and interviewing the villager, each participant creates an earthenware using the soil collected from the village. The earthenware, together with a story article written by the participant, will then be given to the villager as present. Through art creation, the program aims at fostering dialogue between the two generations, as well as reunifying the local villagers closer with their own homeland.
