This catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition ‘Ten Thousand Li: Chinese Infusion in Contemporary British Culture’ which toured the United Kingdom from 2002-2003. As stated in the title, this exhibition and the present publication study how the works and ideas of an important generation of British-Chinese artists infiltrate the mainstream of British contemporary art. The accompanying essays look into this process. Introduction to the exhibits, biographical information of the artists and the contributors, and responses towards the works of the artists are also included in this catalogue.
