It is the catalogue published in conjuction with the solo exhibition The Beauty Banana Series by Cai Jin at the Goedhuis Contemporary from 19 November to 10 December 2003.
The works in this exhibition has been produced since late 2001, when Cai Jin returned to painting following a hiatus of almost two years. She has continued exploring the Beauty Banana theme that obsessed her throughout the 1990s but with a subtle shift in the tenor of her works. Both the break in painting and the transformation in her style are the direct result of the artist's pregnancy.
