This exhibition catalogue for the artist, Victor Lai Ming Hoi, is dedicated to his mentor, Professor David Thistlewood. The death of the latter was a devastating experience for the artist, however, initiated a new direction in his artistic development. Classical and historical subjects, which filled his previous works, gave way to depictions of everyday life and landscape scenery. The paintings presented here are personal expressions as well as memories of the time when the artist and his mentor walked through Southport sharing their ideas on art and life. Artist's biography is included.
