This publication is produced on the occasion of solo exhibition of Chinese artist Wang Youshen of the same title held in ShanghART Beijing.
'Per Square Meter' is an exhibition of 'events'. Wang moved out of his studio twice during 2007 and 2011. He creates this series of multimedia art work to reflect on the two relocation experience, giving art a documentary function. The basic space unit 'square meter' used to name the art work is significant in three ways: first, as a countable mathematical unit; second, as an uncontrollable daily activity; and third, as a process of segmented art creation.
Including artist's biography.
