This is a supplement to the exhibition 'China Welcomes You...Desires, Struggles, New Identities' at Kunsthaus Graz am Landesmuseum Joanneum, Graz, Austria. Xu Tan's ongoing project Searching for Keywords investigates the collective consciousness of Chinese society. It involves interviewing different individuals and studying the content of the conversations to identify connections and common tendencies. For the exhibition at Kunsthaus Graz, Xu Tan interviewed his fellow participating artists on the current state of contemporary art in China. Condensed transcriptions of the interviews and the most frequently mentioned keywords are included in this publication.
