It is the catalogue from the solo exhibition Time, Space, Wood by Yoshishige Saito held at the Yokohama Museum of Art from January 9 to March 23, 1993.
Yoshishige Saito (b.1904 - 2001) began his career as an artist in the 1920s during the pioneering period of Japanese avant-garde. His attention then focussed on such European avant-garde movements as Dada and Constructivism, which eventually led him to participate in the formation of Nika Kyushitsukai and Association of Art and Culture, two of Japan's advanced art groups in the prewar era.
While Surrealism was the dominant trend among the Japanese avant-garde art circles at that time, Saito persisted in producing structral abstract works whose concepts were unique and highly unorthodox.
Artist biography(in Japanese) and bibliography are included.
