This series of works marks a new stage in the artistic development of Zhu Wei. In both content and style, the artist is seen advancing towards the representation of a subjective spiritual world. The wit, humour and expressive colours and forms remain, but above all, there is a mixture of imagination and reality, remoteness and obscurity.
