Kasauli Art Centre Artist Workshop

This photograph captures artist Siegfried Neuenhausen working in his studio at the Kasauli Art Centre Artist Workshop.

The Artist Workshop was held for three weeks between May and June in 1981. Participating artists included Paritosh Sen, Michael Anderson, Ken Kiff, Manu Parekh, Shamshad Husain, Siegfried Neuenhausen, Arpita Singh, Ved Nayar, Krishen Khanna, Sudhir Patwardhan, Bernand Moninot, Jaqueline Duriac, and art critic Geeti Sen.

An experimental theatre presentation was held in conjunction with the Workshop, with Maya Rao, Ein Lall, and Ragini Kumar as participants.

Kasauli Art Centre was founded in 1976 by artist Vivan Sundaram in Kasauli, a hill station in North India. The Centre is known to have organised artists camps, international artist residency programmes, seminars and theater workshops, all designed to explore common grounds between artists, film-makers, critics, architects, playwrights and performers.
