The 'Seoul-Brisbane Artists Exchange Exhibition' is the 4th Annual International Exhibition series organized by SSamzie Space and follows three previous exhibitions with artists from New York (2001), Paris (2002), and Dusseldorf (2003). The six artists invited by SSamizie Space and IMA (Institute of Modern Art) are producing two exhibitions in Brisbane and Seoul based on the experience of mutual exchange. SSamizie Space and IMA are alternative spaces that arose as a new phenomenon in the Asian region during the 1990s. They both play a leading role in discovering and introducing young artists into the international art scene. The invited artists exhibit the final products of a site-specific project done as part of the residency program in each institute, in an attempt to develop a productive networking relationship between the two institutes and to enhance cultural exchange between the two countries.
Other participating artists include Jay Younger, Wilkins Hill and Craig Walsh. With artist biographies and introductions by Kim Honghee, Director of SSamzie Space and David Broker, Acting Director of IMA.
