This publication features the winning artworks of the 2011 ASEAN-Korea Multimedia Competition. In its third year, the competition aims to promote mutual understanding and provide a platform for exchange between young artists in ASEAN member countries and Korea. Themed 'Future Image', it emphasises the need for ASEAN countries to 'break free from stereotypes and to build more forward-looking images'. 20 artists under the age of thirty were selected by a judging panel made up of 11 curators and critics. Artist statements accompany images of the winning works.

The ASEAN-Contemporary Art Seminar was held in conjunction with the competition to discuss the current state and future of ASEAN art. The seminar proceedings are also included in this publication.
