This publication is an art project by Chinese artist Huang Rui. Nearly 200 artists, photographers and critics from China and Germany are invited to participate in this book. It contains some 377 classic works of art and photography--all created in 1989. There are also 24 photographs documenting the history of Germany and China from 1949 to 2009. The photographs are presented in a chronological order of 365 days in the book.
Biographies of artists, photographers and authors are included. A brief history of the People's Republic of China, political events in East and West Germany and in the reunified Germany are also provided.
