This is the catalogue of the Singaporean Pavilion at the 50th Venice Biennale, presenting three artists whose works address the existential issues of identity of oneself in a rapidly globalising world. Tan Swiehian's painting and calligraphy ask what multiculturalism is; Francis Ng's installation explores what space is; Heman Chong uses graphics, photography, text and video to question about the role and identity of the Asian artist working within the contemporary international art world.

A brief introduction of each of the three artists and their work, together with a biography and an interview with the curator are featured in this publication.
