This catalogue is published on the occasion of the memorial exhibition of Lui Shou-kwan at Hong Kong Arts Centre, 2015. Students who were under influence of Lui and continued contributing Hong Kong ink movement such as Wucius Wong, Leung Kui-ting and Kan Tai-keung’s works were also selected in the second section of the catalogue, 'Lui Shou-kwan's Students'.

'One of the most Lui's pioneering contribution is his creation of Zen painting. Deeply rooted in Buddhist and Taoist culture, Lui was inspired by the Yuan and Western abstract art masters that he raised the question "How can a painting express light to the fullest to the extent of infinity? This is the trigger point of Zen painting."' (From 'Lui Shou-kwan and Hong Kong's Modern Ink Art' written by Pi Daojian, Page 13)

This catalogue has also included young artists’ works inspired by Lui’s philosophy as the third part of the publication 'A New Generation of Artists'. Their work varied from photography, installation to video, sculpture and so on.

Plates of works are put under the following sections: 'Lui Shou-kwan', 'Lui Shou-kwan's Students', 'A New Generation of Artists'.

With foreword written by Daphne King Yao, three critiques by Tang Hoi-chiu, Pi Daojian and Shelagh Vainker, biography and events and photographs of Lui Shou-kwan also included.
