Catalogue published in conjunction with A-Sun Wu's retrospective exhibition at Taipei Fine Arts Museum. Inspired by his travels throughout the European, Asian, African and South American continents, directness appears to be the defining characteristic of his art, calling to mind primitive or children's drawings. Shinichi Segi notes, "He paints while watching, instead of watching before painting...He paints from the front, and, through painting, he tries to assimilate himself with the object. Therefore, what is shown in his painting is not the transfer of painter's feelings but the life extracted from the inside of the object." Plates are accompanied by photographs, sketches and notes by the artist. With biography.
