Herdsmen, horses and grasslands are the main subjects to be found in the lithographs of Su Xinping, who was born in Inner Mongolia. This monograph focuses on the works produced in the period 1987-1991, in which the use of light and shade became more simplified and mysterious. The accompanying essay written by Gao Minglu provides a helpful guide in the appreciation of the art of Su Xinping. A chronology of Su’s artistic activities is included.
