For a profile of the artist Onib Olmedo, Ramos interviewed his friend Ricky Gutierrez, a partner of the Chateau 1771 Group of Restaurants. Ricky commissioned Onib to do paintings for his restaurant Chateau in 1988. Onib also settled some friendly backgammon debts to Ricky with paintings. Surprisingly, of the 34 Onib paintings in Ricky's collections, there are no nudes. "Onib Olmedo: Dimensions of Depth" runs at the Bulwaganag Juan Luna of the CCP until Nov. 8 and "My Friend Onib Olmedo" runs at the White Cube Gallery, Metropolitan Museum of Manila until Oct. 27, 2007.
