ART HK 09, Hong Kong's international art fair, visted by 27,000 people over four days was "as much a trade show as a cultural event."  110 galleries, including White Cube, Gagosian, Seoul Auction,  represented both Asian and Western artists such as Damien Hirst, Tracy Emin, Marc Quinn, and Antony Gormley.  Publicity materials for ART HK 09 used a photo by the young Chinese artist Zhang Ding.  Martina Navratilova's "tennis-as-performance-art" was on view by the champagne bar.  Claire Hsu, Asia Art Archive’s executive director, is quoted about her opinions regarding Hong Kong becoming a cultural centre.
