Since 1986，Taipei Fine Arts Museum has rented out some basement exhibition halls to individual artists and artist groups. Accompanying this ‘Open Artists Exhibition’ programme, documents have been published annually or biennially. There are two screening periods in a year, in April and October. According to the regulations for participation, established in 1986, the art works were divided into five main categories: Chinese painting, Western painting (including mixed media), pottery and sculpture, photography, and other works. This publication records individual and group exhibitions of this kind held at the Museum during the period July 1995 to June 1996.
The artists are grouped under the medium of their works. The list of exhibitions held, and artist biographies are provided in the appendix in the back.
