Shigeo Anzai has been documenting Japanese contemporary art spaces, taking portraits of noted artists and their representative works since 1970. The exhibition features Anzai's 'personal photo' world that has been woven out of nearly 3000 photographs. The works not only present the changing trends of Japanese art over the last 40 years, and but also offer a glimpse of the faces behind the Japanese contemporary art scene. Anzai's biography is provided in the catalogue.

Please note that a list of exhibits is also available in "AAA Event File (Japan): Anzai: Personal Photo Archive 1970-2006". Please ask library staff for assistance.
