This catalogue and artist book accompanies Area Park's solo exhibition held at Atelier Hermès, Seoul from January to March 2012. Shortly after the earthquake and tsunami that struck northeastern Japan in March 2011, Park travelled to the disaster zone where he photographed the traces left behind. Displayed as part of the exhibition is an old album, discovered by Park, which contains the childhood photos of a missing Japanese woman. A separate section of this publication features the found photographs. Through these works, Park initiates a dialogue with the past and examines the role of photography in our lives today.
