Art of Our Time showcases a selection of modern and contemporary works from the Singapore Art Museum's permanent collection. Collected for their historical significance and importance, these works, through the artists' interpretation of their environment and events in their lives, offer glimpses into the respective country's social, economic and political developments. Divided into two sections, Unyielding Passion: 8 Masters of Singapore Art explores developments in Singapore art through the works of eight artists (with artist biographies), while Of Tides and Times: Encounters with Southeast Asian Art, in adopting a thematic approach, looks at art within the region's cultural diversities.
