The catalogue is published on the occasion of the 2nd International Biennale in Nagoya, ARTEC '91. The theme of the Biennale is 'TV Games, Towards another Reality', issues related to HDTV and artistic expression, the present state of art and technology, education in art and technology, what artificial reality can bring about as well as creature and art are dicussed at the symposium. It provided an unique opportunity to bring in the hamonisation of art and technology such that this new field of expression would lead to the creation of a better urban environment.

Artists who participated in the theme exhibition 'TV Games - Towards Another Reality' were Stephen Beck (USA), Ed Emshwiller (USA), Yoichiro Kawaguchi (Japan) and Agnes Hegedus/ Jeffrey Shaw (Holland).

Other artists from abroad include Brigitte Burgmer (Germany), Newton & Helen Harrison (USA), Felix hess (Holland), Gary Hill (USA), Christina Kubisch (Germany), Marie-Jo Lafontaine (Belgium), Mary Lucier (USA), Maurizio Mochetti (Italy), Martin Riches (UK), Curt Royston (USA), Ruth Schnell & Kike Garcia Roldan (Austria), Thomas Shannon (USA), Eric & Deborah Staller (USA), Studio Azzurro (Italy), Wen-Ying Tsai (USA) and Peter Vogel (Germany).
