This is the last in a series of three lectures on the development of Hong Kong art in the last 50 years, co-presented by Asia Art Archive and Hong Kong Museum of Art. It was held at Hong Kong Museum of Art on 23 July 2011. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Hon Chi Fun is a native artist who actively witnessed and participated in the birth of contemporary art in Hong Kong. The talk begins with an overview of Hon’s artistic career and stylistic development, with a focus on his signature pieces, presented by Phoebe Wong of AAA. It also features a screening of the documentary Hon's Orbit, followed by a conversation between Hon and critic Shum Long Tin (joined by Choi Yan Chi), revisiting the very essence of Hon’s artistic creation, and his perspectives on perceptual aesthetic judgment, Taoism, and phenomenology.

The 'Hong Kong Art from 1960 to 2010 Lecture Series' is held in association with the exhibition 'From Common to Uncommon – the Legend of Ha Bik Chuen’ at Hong Kong Museum of Art.
